Yoruichi Shihoin is a princess of the Shihoin Clan, one of the great noble families in the Soul Society. She’s the reason Ichigo got stronger to a degree as a child when they’d spar together. She’s a minor character in Bleach when it comes to the overall picture and plot, but….Īs a relevant childhood friend to Ichigo, and a later friend to Orihime, Tatsuki’s a relevant character who’s memorable despite the amount of characters in this series. Tatsuki Arisawa deserves some credit, too. She’s a gorgeous black female character, and one who’s represented very well in the anime industry in general. She’s the one who trained Byakuya Kuchiki and Ichigo, not to mention Soi Fon, the stealth force, and is the only one capable of transforming into a cat to mask her true identity. Yoruichi Shihoin is a character you can’t forget. And he’s also the reason characters or Ryouka like Ganju weren’t unnecessarily killed off during the soul society invasion. Jushiro is also the reason Byakuya didn’t fully fight Ichigo before Yoruichi trained him to learn Bankai. Like STARK said, the #1 espada: “You may have the appearance of a gentleman, but you’ve got some pretty nasty skills.” (Paraphrasing). The irony is Jushiro is one of the most powerful captains in the soul society without question, but his persona wouldn’t have you believe it. He’s jolly, kind, thoughtful of others and prefers to avoid battle if necessary. Jushiro Ukitake is the laid back, easy going, and chilled captain from Bleach. And his relationship with Rukia (plus his outfits and abilities) make Bleach a masterpiece in my eyes.

As a late 90s kid, she holds a special place for childhood cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Her most well-loved movies are The Shawshank Redemption and The Iron Giant. She swears by the Bioshock and Assassins Creed game series, though Sonic games are what she played the most as a child. Joanna has a borderline unhealthy Lofi Hip Hop addiction and loves to listen to music while she writes. Her biggest dreams are to someday publish poetry books, short stories, novels, and to become a screenwriter. Cook Award for a One-Act play she wrote during college about a group of troubled teens living in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania called Que Sera Sera.
